When God Has the Final Say

Back in October, Gina and I met with a young woman who came into the Pregnancy & Family Care Center abortion-minded. She was carrying a heavy burden, surrounded by pressure and voices telling her that abortion was the best option. We sat with her, listened carefully, and spoke truth with as much love and compassion as we could. We shared what we knew to be life-giving and rooted in God’s design, but when she left, it seemed her decision had not changed.
In her file notes, we wrote what we feared: that she would most likely go through with the abortion.
But even when we couldn’t see a change, we knew God could. We sent out a prayer chain, asking others to stand in the gap and intercede for this young woman and her baby.
Months passed.
Then in March, she walked back through our doors.
This time, she had a big belly and was seven months pregnant.

It was one of those moments that stops you in your tracks—a reminder that God is always writing a bigger story than the one we can see. As I sat with her for over an hour, listening to everything she had been through, she shared that so many people in her life had encouraged her to have an abortion. One friend even went so far as to send her links to order the abortion pill online. The fact that abortions are so readily available—that you can now just order a pill online without ever seeing a doctor—is a scary thought.
And yet, in the middle of all that noise, something different had taken root.
She told me, “You guys were the only ones speaking truth to me… telling me to keep my baby.”
Those words carried so much weight—not because of anything we had done in our own strength, but because God had used that moment—those words of truth spoken in love—to plant a seed.
Then she shared the turning point.
She said that God spoke to her heart and told her, “I didn’t make a mistake with this child.”
In that moment, everything changed. She knew she could not go through with the abortion. The fear, the pressure, the uncertainty—all of it gave way to the truth of who God is: a Creator who does not make mistakes.
Her story is a beautiful reminder that we are called to be faithful, not necessarily to see immediate results. We may not always witness the outcome, but God is always moving beyond what we can see or understand.
Today, because of His intervention, a precious life continues to grow. Stories like this are only possible because of the faithful support of those who give, pray, and stand with us. Every act of generosity helps create a space where truth can be spoken, love can be felt, and lives can be changed.
