Bill Jones

Executive Director

Bill is the Executive Director of both the Christian Care Center (comprised of 7 different ministries) as well as the Community Medical Care Center (our medical partnership with Leesburg Regional Medical Center).  His goal is to inspire and support his staff and volunteers to be fully engaged in our mission and strategy.  He is a graduate of the University of Florida with a degree in Civil Engineering and has a Master’s Degree from Dallas Theological Seminary.  He and his wife, Mandy, have three daughters.

Wanda Kohn

Director

Wanda is the director of the Pregnancy & Family Care Center.  She began her involvement with PFCC in 1988 as a volunteer counselor and accepted the position as Director in 2002.  Since that time, she has greatly expanded the services that the PFCC offers. Wanda is the Co-Founder of Habitat for Humanity of Lake County and received the WORLD magazine’s 2007 Daniel of the Year Award for her work in the pro-life cause.  She and her husband Bob teach a family-focused Bible Fellowship class at First Baptist Leesburg and love serving the Lord together.

Kathy Salerno

Director

Kathy became the Director of the Samaritan Inn after serving as the Assistant Director for 3 years. Throughout her many years of vocational ministry, she has served in various roles in inner city churches working with those experiencing life controlling issues, crisis, and trauma related struggles. She has a degree of ministry in Biblical Studies and is a certified mental health coach. Kathy’s greatest joy is serving others by helping them experience true identity and growth in Christ, to showing them how to obtain wholeness and freedom through Christ, so they can fulfill their life purpose for Christ.

Sherry Stewart

Director

Sherry is the Director of the Women’s Care Center and has previously served as the Assistant Director of the Pregnancy & Family Care Center and Assistant Director of the Women’s Care Center. Sherry has a Bachelor’s of Ministry in Christian Counseling and has 2 children and 6 grandsons. Her and her husband Neil have a long history of working in local jail ministry, serving in their church, and engaging their community with the love and grace of Jesus Christ.

Glenn Shires

Director

Glenn brings decades of grocery experience and business ownership to lead Lake County's Largest Food Pantry, our Benevolence Center.  His passion for helping people and sharing about the Lord comes through in everything he does. He and his wife, Sonya, live in Leesburg near their two grown kids.

Jay Walsh

Director

Jay is the director of our Men’s Residence. With his background in inner city missions, he is passionate about helping men change their lives through discipleship. Jay and his wife, Linda, have four children.

Joe Weinberg

Director

Joe has served with Fresh Start since 2010 as a liaison, connecting campus ministries and community agencies with Fresh Start services, and he became the Director of Fresh Start in 2020. He holds a Master’s Degree in Organizational Management and teaches alongside his wife, Jackie, at the Men’s Residence and Women’s Care Center. Joe and Jackie have been married for 33 years and have a son in Alaska and a son and daughter in Michigan.

Tammy Youngren

Director

Tammy has been the Director of the Community Medical Care Center since its inception.  Tammy is a native of Oregon (Go Ducks). Shortly after relocating to Florida, she began attending First Baptist Church and got involved in Discipleship classes and volunteering at the Pregnancy and Family Care Center.  She was hired as an assistant at First Baptist Church in 1997 and then in 1999 progressed to the Medical Center as Office Manager.  She shares that it is awesome to serve in a position where you see firsthand on a daily basis the providence of God over so many.
