Members of Biker's C.A.R.E. Become Family to Children at Children's Shelter

Updated: Oct 15, 2018

In Psalm 27:10 we read that “though my father and mother forsake me, the LORD will receive me.”

Here at our Children’s Shelter, we are a home to 12 children who have been removed from their families. Now one thing we never can do is replace their family, but what we can do in the meantime is create a temporary family setting for them while they call our shelter their home. Recently our children were adopted into another family – Bikers-C.A.R.E.

Bikers C.A.R.E. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit motorcycle-based organization based in the state of Florida that seeks to end child abuse in the communities it serves and to assist the children and families impacted by the abuse. Part of what they do is to bring restoration to the child. “We will seek to help the child and family recover from the trauma abuse causes and strive to help the child regain the innocence that was stolen by showing them the power they hold within.”

Bikers C.A.R.E has been coming to our shelter adopting our children into their family. They have awarded each child with their own personalized bikers’ vest. With that they come to share meals, donate materials and their time, and most importantly share their love with our children. I had the pleasure of grilling for our big family recently, and what a joy it is to see these children and these bikers interact as family. The bikers are not scared off by the behaviors some of our children can exhibit, and the children are not scared off by the tough look of our biker family. Instead their mission to Protect, Restore, and Educate prevails through all stereotypes.

Where many children can feel distant from the love a family can bring, our children have a chance to experience family at its fullest, family that is there when everyone else seems to have failed. Although their parents might have failed them in one sense or another, the Lord has received them.

Are you interested in allowing these children to feel the love of the Father through your life?
