Keys to the Kingdom

Lately, a beautiful trend has emerged at the Samaritan Inn. Over the past few months, I’ve received photos of keys—not just any keys, but the keys to new homes and fresh starts. These images symbolize success, marking the end of a journey filled with faith, perseverance, and daily commitment to growth.

Each photo brings a mix of emotions: joy, gratitude, and a touch of bittersweet sorrow as we say goodbye. To outsiders, it may seem simple, but for those of us walking closely with these families, it’s deeply meaningful. By the time they reach this milestone, we can confidently call them disciples.
Jesus said in Matthew 6:33, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.” As our families learn to be faithful with little, they begin to trust the process more than the outcome—and that’s where transformation happens.

Watching a family move from instability to security is powerful. But our greatest joy is in giving them the keys to something far greater.
In Matthew 16:19, Jesus says, “I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven…” As our residents work unto the Lord and trust Him with their future, they receive not just physical keys, but eternal ones—finding true security in the Author and Finisher of their faith.
