Recently, the First Academy Key Club demonstrated the true spirit of giving by organizing a food drive to benefit the Benevolence Center. Under the leadership of Julie Pletcher, students were encouraged to bring at least three canned goods or nonperishable food items, and they responded generously.

When the donations were delivered, Glenn Shires, director of the Benevolence Center, estimated the total at an incredible 1,600 pounds of food. These items were combined with 500 turkeys that the Benevolence Center distributed, ensuring hundreds of Lake County families could enjoy a Thanksgiving meal.

The Benevolence Center is one of the busiest food pantries in Lake County, providing food, clothing, and household items to those in need. Thanks to the generosity of First Academy students and the ongoing work of the Benevolence Center, many families experienced the love of Christ in a tangible way. Together, we are making a difference—one meal, one family at a time.

The Benevolence Center accepts donations Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to noon.
