Training Wheels

When it comes to learning to ride a bike or learning to thrive in life, training wheels are helpful! There are some very similar aspects to learning everyday biking skills and also learning everyday life skills. Success at both requires a steady hand, stability, balance, and forward movement, though slow at times.

At Samaritan Inn, our role (whether helping children learn to ride bikes or helping their parents learn to thrive at life) is to offer the necessary training, support, and steady hand to bring about progress for success. We have opportunities to witness children overcome fears, anxieties and obstacles and pedal away in fun. We also have the chance to witness their parents overcome fears, anxieties and obstacles to walk forward experiencing newfound joys of gaining life skills they never had.

Both children and parents may have thought their going from being stuck to being free wasn’t even possible. Though each scenario is different in various ways, they are also similar in that these opportunities bring welcome change and transformation. The smiles for each accomplishment are very precious and heartwarming. We are grateful for each and every one, even if there are a few bumps and stumbles along the way. These are special moments filled with God’s grace that we cherish and do not take for granted.
