Carver Middle School’s National Junior Honor Society sponsored a canned food drive benefiting the Christian Care Center’s Benevolence Center. The Benevolence Center is an appointment-based food pantry and clothing closet open Monday thru Friday helping those in need in our community.
The National Junior Honor Society came up with a fun, friendly competition between the homeroom classes for each grade. The winners won a pizza party for the class and the winning teacher received a gift card. The campaign's motto was One Feeds One.
The teachers were excited and got their students excited about One Feeds One. Their goal was 1 can per student, and they did more than that. Some teachers went out and purchased enough items so that their homeroom met the One Feeds One quota. One student walked to school with 32 canned goods. That’s determination!
The Christian Care Center is thankful to The Carver Middle School’s National Junior Honor Society for hosting this can food drive. Also, we are very grateful for the teachers who spurred the competition on and those who brought in cans personally for this drive!
Great work Carver Middle!!
It is because of faithful partners that give financially and hold special events that the Christian Care Center continues meeting needs and sharing Christ with those that need it the most.
