The Villages

Usually, quoting the idiom “it takes a village” is used to indicate that one is acknowledging other peoples’ roles in the success of a project. The expression “it takes a village” is an abbreviated form of a proverb: “It takes a village to raise a child.”

Here at Samaritan Inn, we have been blessed many times over by not just a village but a number of those who call their home “The Villages”.

We had the privilege of receiving generous donations from several different Villages’ Recreational Clubs. These wonderful groups of residents of The Villages not only donated money and household item for our families but also gave us the opportunity to come and share about the ministry that the Samaritan Inn does in helping families to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty, while raising their children in a safe, secure, and caring environment.

These folks’ generosity certainly is fulfilling a role in the successes of the ministry at Samaritan Inn. We are grateful for their partnership. We are looking forward to more folks who are part of other Villages’ Recreational groups hearing about the work of the Christian Care Center/Samaritan Inn. We look forward to the possibilities and opportunities for The Villages to fulfill a vital role in giving toward meeting our families’ needs and their successful completion of our transition housing program.
