A few weekends ago, something powerful happened at the Christian Care Center Men’s Retreat—God moved in a way that changed lives.

The theme, drawn from Colossians 3:1, was a call to rise: “If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above.” It wasn’t just a verse—it became a reality. Men laid down guilt, shame, and old habits, and walked away with freedom in their eyes and fire in their hearts.

We witnessed breakthroughs. Walls came down. Chains broke. Testimonies flowed, prayers were answered, and brotherhood deepened. One of the most moving moments came from a young boy whose father completed our program years ago. Raised in a Jewish home, his dad found Christ during recovery. His parents were later remarried, and today they serve the Lord together. Hearing their son recognize God’s hand in their story was unforgettable.

What made this retreat special wasn’t just the paintball or fishing—it was the presence of God transforming ordinary men into warriors of faith. We came down the mountain changed, not by hype, but by encountering the living Christ.

And yes, the food was legendary—nacho night turned into a feast, and the dessert buffet rivaled any cruise ship. Around the table, laughter and stories reminded us that God’s joy is found in the simple things too.

As the men return to daily life, our prayer is simple: “Lord, help us keep seeking the things above. Help us live like men who’ve been raised with You.”

None of this would have been possible without the generous donors and supporters who made the weekend happen. Because of their support, lives were changed, hope was restored, and men left knowing they’ve been raised to new life in Christ.

If you’d like to be part of this ongoing transformation — helping more men find freedom, faith, and purpose — we’d love to hear from you. Email Jamie@christiancarecenter.org to learn how you can get involved as a volunteer, a prayer partner, or a financial partner.
