For over 24 years Jay Walsh has poured into lives here at the Christian Care Center’s Men’s Residence. He has had many heartbreaks and many moments of encouragement. He sacrificed much and carried the burden for the men struggling with addiction which is never easy.

His goal was much deeper than helping men get sober; he was discipling them to have a real genuine relationship with the Lord, to be the men of God they were created to be. Countless men came in and out of this program, and with each man, Jay assured the gospel was preached to them. Sometimes we can spend our entire lives serving God and never see any fruit of our labor. I’m sure for Jay there were times when he questioned if he was making a difference.

Then there are times like the present where he can be confident his labor was not in vain. This year, Jay has taken on a new role here at the Christian Care Center on our administration team as the Associate Director. And for the first time in all the Men’s Residence history, the Director and both Assistant Directors are all former residents of the program.

Jay has handed over the ministry to three of the men he had poured into… three men who Jay had discipled to be the next generation of the Men’s Residence leaders. This is what we reap if we don’t grow weary in doing good. I speak for all the men who were under Jay’s leadership; I speak for all the families that Jay had a part of restoring. I speak on behalf of all the Christian Care Center, and I speak for myself when I say, “Thank you, Jay, for being steadfast and immovable, and for always abounding in the work of the Lord.”
