This past month our Samaritan Inn Ministry, which provides transitional housing for families in need, celebrated the opening of their new game room!! Through the support and help of many over the last three months, we were able to provide a place for our families to come together and enjoy a time of entertainment and fellowship!
Our greatest desire is to have our parents and families lead their children into a deeper understanding of the Word, but we also felt like it would be a huge benefit to give them a place to relax and enjoy things they probably wouldn’t otherwise have. This game room was created to give our children incentive to display healthy behavior in school and out of the classroom as well. They’re able to earn time in the game room in 15-minute increments by memorizing Scripture, getting good grades, being kind to one another, or completing a daily chore that is assigned to them.
We have already seen a great change in behavior with many of our children and have hope that they will learn what it looks like to earn something, rather than just having it handed to them. We wholeheartedly believe that God’s people must continue come together to support a cause greater than ourselves.
