“For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish” (Jeremiah 31:25).
At the end of October, the Men’s Residence held their annual Men’s Retreat. A time of current residents, past graduates, and some of their sons coming together for a weekend retreat to connect, encourage, and replenish. This year’s theme was Be Set Free and what a freeing weekend it was. By the fire we watched as over 50 men were unshackled of pasts traumas, freed of entangling sins, and let go of their past identities which weighed them down.
Our 32-week program is pretty packed with classes most of the day, so to be able to get away and get some time to retreat was amazing. We spent every morning with devotions and were blessed one morning with our own Pastor Cliff! We did everything from boating, paintball, high ropes courses, fishing, Bible studies and sports. It was a weekend of spiritual growth and replenishing.
We are so thankful to all that made this weekend possible. We needed sponsorship for over 30 men and some of their sons, and our community was so quick to provide. This weekend will be remembered for an eternity. Lives were changed and eternal destinies were secured. These men have been chained to the identity of just being drug addicts… not worthy of much.
