The Men’s Residence is a 32-week faith-based drug and alcohol rehabilitation program. We are a very structured program where the guys spend most of their day in classes learning to build a sincere relationship with the Lord.
These men have a heavy burden on their heart, taking months off from life to tackle some of the deeply rooted issues which led to their addictions. They are coming face to face with past trauma, dealing with the hurts they have caused their loved ones, and facing financial burdens their addictions have caused, bringing them to a point of brokenness. This is where the healing truly begins.
But as the Bible says a crushed spirit dries up the bones. Even though we are dealing with some heavy stuff here, God also allows for a time of joy. We take recreation seriously here because a joyful heart is good medicine. We want these guys to understand there can be joy and fun outside of drugs and alcohol.
Recently the men here started their own cornhole tournament. A way to let off some steam, have some godly fellowship, and a little health competition. It truly is a blessing to watch God transform these crushed spirits to joyful hearts. They even created a handmade trophy!
