Redeeming the Time

You know, here at the Samaritan Inn, we often get asked what it is that we do. Sometimes it feels like it might be easier to answer what we don’t do. Today, along with counseling, answering phones, and working with outside agencies; we put up Christmas decorations. As one-year winds down and comes to a close, there is another just around the corner. Another year filled with opportunity! Yet that’s not a lot of time. Our program is a 1-year transitional housing program, which means we have approximately one year to help a family be transformed by the power of God in all areas of their lives.

Ephesians 5:15-17 says, “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.”

From fostering a relationship with God, to uncovering past trauma and teaching life skills like working a budget, our hands are always full (not too full to occasionally teach a child to ride a bike). So, this year we want to ask for your help. Would you consider joining us as a prayer partner this year? Pray that we, as staff and residents, would redeem the time, taking full advantage of the opportunities granted here. That we would walk circumspectly, in all our choices, and that we would be given wisdom and understanding of what the will of the Lord is, that we may live and act accordingly. Also pray for belief, that we would believe God is willing to lead if we are willing to follow.

Thank you in advance, Samaritan Inn
