The ladies at the Women’s Care Center brought in the New Year in their own unique way. Great food – everything from pizza and wings to shrimp cocktail and little smokies. Silly games, crazy karaoke (hidden talents shared by all), lots of laughter and even a movie at the end of the night. Not everyone lasted until midnight, but they sure had a lot to celebrate! Being clean and sober, restoring relationships, and a whole lot of healing – what a better way to kick off 2023?
New Year’s Day can mean something different to everyone, but a common theme are the resolutions. Neil Stewart teaches a class called “Seeking Him”. It covers personal revival and the ladies love being able to pick Mr. Neil’s brain on everything from doctrine to current events. Mr. Neil has a tradition for the New Year that he does with both the women at the Women’s Care Center and the men at the Men’s Center. The Commitment 2023 asked 3 basic questions.
What did God do for you in 2022?
What did you do for God in 2022, and
What will you do for God in 2023?
The ladies had a little time to think on these things and each and every one truly put a lot of thought and effort into the assignment. They took it seriously, after all it is a commitment to God! After reading their thoughts and commitments to each other, each lady was prayed for by the others. It was a touching time as the ladies reflected on how God had worked in their lives throughout 2022 and what they had done for Him. Hearing them share their commitments for 2023, was more than shallow promises, they were the heartfelt declarations from women that know Jesus in a personal way.
