Men's Residence

Talk about a success story!  We brought Bobby there after exhausting every other possibility and figuring this was the final chance.  God truly used you and your ministry, from Bro. Dave to Tim Burdick, to every other staff and member there to encourage Bobby.  He has now been clean since last July, 2006 and is currently serving in Iraq. God is really a God of new beginnings.  I will always praise God for you and the help you have been for our family.

Sincerely,
Bob & Donna Kuntz

Men's Residence

I was born and raised in Leesburg and Wildwood.  My family has been here for three generations.  I came from a normal family.  My parents were loving and supportive of me as a child. As I grew older, I began seeking after worldly things in order to find fulfillment in my life.  I began associating with the wrong crowd and drugs. Without realizing it, my sense of values began to decline.  I was a very selfish young man.  If things did not go my way, I would become angry and lash out at the very people I loved. All that seemed to matter was that I become successful in business and have fun.  The lifestyle in which I was involved was taking its toll on my family and me but I would not admit it.  I became abusive to my lovely wife and family.  I had very little respect for any kind of authority. After several brushes with the law over the past several years, I suddenly found myself in very serious trouble  I wound up in jail.  I then realized that my life was in shambles and that I had no one to turn to.  My life seemed utterly hopeless. One Saturday, as I sat alone in my jail cell, God sent an old friend of my family who told me about a Savior who could take away my guilt and shame.  He said that if I would trust Jesus Christ and turn my life over to Him, He would provide the fulfillment that I was so desperately seeking.  That day I prayed and asked Jesus to come into my life and save me. Since that day, God has performed one miracle after another in my life.  He provided an opportunity for me to go to the Men’s Residence where I have experienced healing that is nothing short of miraculous.  My lovely wife and two sons have also trusted Christ as their Savior.  God is so wonderful!  My life has been completely turned around.  God has restored my relationships with my wife and parents. I thank God for the ministries of First Baptist Church, the Men’s Residence and the Good News Jail Ministries, which made all this possible.
