Not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near. Hebrews 10:25
What a blessed opportunity us here at the Children’s Shelter experienced when we had a majority of First Baptist Leesburg’s Pastors, staff, and families come join us for a cook out. Not only was the food terrific and donated by the Christian Care Center’s Benevolence Center, but the fellowship was even greater. Florida Baptist Children’s Homes Director of Ministries, Craig Parrow, came down from headquarters to have a taste! For the first time since I have been serving here, we had so many wonderful people of God come to the shelter together. And the neat thing was – they didn’t come with a tour and they didn’t come to check up on us – they came and played games, prayed, ate and laughed. It was encouraging to know how many people on our very own campus just wanted to take an opportunity to spend some time with our children! Simply spending an afternoon lunch with our kids here at the Children’s Shelter brings so much joy and purpose. And I would like to encourage you to come and spend some time with them also, as you will truly never know what it means to them to have people come and invest in them.
